Who is really in touch with the Holy Spirit?
Friday, March 27, 2009 x pyislove
Many have prayed about the book you find sacred,
for some the Holy Spirit tells them initially the book is not true,
and leads them to evidence later, that this book may be a 19th century fiction.
Any person who says "I promise you that if you pray about it you will find such and such"
is a person who is in deep self-deception, and a person who falsely promises that which he/she does not have the power to know or predict. Do not assume that everyone will experience the same
results that you did. That is highly unpredictable! Even though someone else does not agree with
your experience, they may be closer to the truth!
results that you did. That is highly unpredictable! Even though someone else does not agree with
your experience, they may be closer to the truth!
I have heard of such testimonies also about something being true!
and when years later some of these same persons change opinions by 180 degrees.
The whole process seems desperately flawed and unreliable, like "a house built on sand".
When many persons eventually leave the faith and have seen things very differently, what can they then tell all those persons they have naively converted earlier.
How many did you convert in the past to that which they now no longer believe???
What is the missing element here?
Even the seemingly clear awareness of what your feeling is telling you,
may be the opposite of what the HS would love to tell you.
may be the opposite of what the HS would love to tell you.
Your feelings are still clouded and discoloured by those dark glasses of
your cultural programming. 20 years from now how will you see things then?
One major purpose of the scriptures is to tell
you how to get beyond common limitations of dogma.
Even though we do not see things the same
way we all have the same challenge - Deprogramming, deprogramming,
to somehow remove ourselves from these distorted ideas and see things clearly.
"FEW THERE BE THAT FIND THAT WAY that leads to life."
And fewer still will make that supreme effort to know the truth.
This becomes very evil and very ugly when one person or group imagines that
all other persons are wrong and will not find salvation unless they
join their club. Here is where missionaries are very confused and misguided!
Do you want to be a God over some planet?
"What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and loose his own soul?"
"What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and loose his own soul?"
Perhaps it is the desire for power and not the Holy Spirit that is spurring you on!
Such is the power of desire that cause men to see only what they are told to see.
(or what they want to see - all else are inconvenient truths.)
(or what they want to see - all else are inconvenient truths.)
"what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his own soul."
"if any of you wants to be the greatest, he must be the servant of all."
The missionary's priority is to do just that - to gain(convert) the whole world.
The missionary's priority is to do just that - to gain(convert) the whole world.
When such persons get into power the result is never good.
"Absolute power still corrupts everyone..............absolutely!
This is why our political leaders consistently fail us.
This is why our political leaders consistently fail us.
Many persons imagine that their faith or the holy Spirit tells them such and such,
few can tell the difference between imagination and those holy guides.
Do you notice how many cults and churches who say the Holy Spirit speaks
to them are all contradicting one another. And misleading them.
Also - so many claim to have great faith, many years later they change
their mind and are gone from your group. So who told them your church was true?
Of what value was their testimony all those previous years now that
they believe through their deeper faith that they honor something very different.
They have found a new truth other than your Book or your Church.
They have found a new truth other than your Book or your Church.
So which one is really in touch with the Holy Spirit? none really know.
No race has 10 first place winners, just be grateful that you have something
that you believe is good to work with. Time teaches many things.
This alone should alert an intelligent person that the whole thing does
not work the way they desire it to.
You may not be in touch with any Holy Spirit.
Communion with reality/truth does not come so easily,
and it never comes to majorities following popular dogmas.
History shows this to us over and over again.
If you don't have the understanding how your hopeful desires are just
responding to your cultural programming,
the truth will continue to elude you for a very long time.
It is not like swallowing a pill or joining a new church,
much work is needed on yourself within the consciousness
to undo ones attachment to the unreality of the relative world
of matter and senses.
There is no magic bullet!
I saw this wild web site recently that erroneously said
ReplyDeleteThat SRF and another group were in the courts for a long time
having a battle over Yogananda's successorship.
Another false rumour. Maybe someone meant copyright?
Since this never did happen, and our humble yet beloved
Daya Mata was fairly and clearly elected by the Board.
She has done a wonderful job of balancing and growing
Yogananda's Self-Realization Fellowship/YSS for the last 55 years.
I was just wondering why some of those who left
Yogananda's work through SRF have made this claim,
and not one of those who remained were making such
a claim as far as I know?
Obviously, since He stated that there would be no
more Gurus in His branch of the lineage, and also
established a board to elect future leaders there
would be no basis for those erroneous claims of other
teachers (successorship) to be truthful.
Most great prophets apply this method of "closure"
for important reasons, not the least of which is
to fend of all the religious copy-cats that are out
there and help the devotee avoid mass confusion.
Where did they get such and impression that they
should be the new leader of this great NRM,
especially in absentia from masters church?
This is simply ego out of control.
Is there something being missed here?
I doubt if Yogananda ever gave the least
hint of such a comment about other true successors.
It is also historically very clear by this time
that persons who made those claims are not
and were not in a position to be worthy of
that claim and /or that position by a long shot.
Their lives in some cases after leaving SRF portray a serious
disconnect from attunement with the Guru.
How then can they be the channel they are claiming to be.
If in the meantime they have served this work
in some good way, give them some credit.
However, if you really loved your Master,
why weren't all those who came to hear you
directed to the SRF. Organizationally, all
orgs have their own unique problems, even the
organizations you leavers have created.
So it is about time you gave up the finger pointing.
I am sure this may sound a bit hurtful to
those followers of said leaders who left SRF.
But at some point in this journey you have
to begin to understand the difference between
a Living Guru/savoir even though not in the body.
And a teacher who though seemingly alive may
be yet spiritually dead. A lot of personality
or talking does not make one spiritually alive.
One should understand our personal motives for
the paths we choose in life.
Yet, I feel sure that there are a number of the
followers of those wannabe gurus do try to
give their devotion and attention to the real
Guru -Paramahansa Yogananda.
Don't let community or others become more
important than Truth and God and Guru.
